Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler
If you ever wondered where I learned how to cook barbecued shrimp, or pork belly topped with fig preserves, well… Mr. B’s Bistro. This wasn’t my first time in New Orleans. I was there during Hurricane Katrina, back in 2005. I came home with seven broken ribs and memories of things I hope I never see again.
Exactly sixteen years, two months and three days later, Becky and I are at the Omni Royal Hotel during the Halloween Festival. Covid had knocked some of the life out of the city, but we were treated like royalty!
Ask me to recommend a restaurant in The French Quarter… My answer… Every single one of them!!! From the Oyster Po’Boys, Shrimp and Grits, Filet Mignon with Truffle Butter, to Beignets and barbecued shrimp, the food is wonderful! Yes, the waiter served my barbecued shrimp and tied a bib around my neck!
