This get-away doesn’t require a lot of time, but the timing has to be perfect.
When I think about sunrises and sunsets, water always comes to mind. Rightfully so, I might add, as I’m on an island. There’s the beach, rivers and creeks and more than a few ponds. I’m sorry to admit that it is so easy to overlook such beauty when you’re so close to it.
Skylines are everywhere. I couldn’t even begin to list all of the locations, but I’ll share a few of my favorites.
1. Parking Garages. I go up on the top floor. Sunsets over a city skyline are breathtaking!
2. Train Tracks.
3. Long Dirt Roads.
4. Long Highways.
Make a day of it! One of my favorite escapes on Amelia Island, I call it “Chasing the Sun”. We start at the beach at sunrise, and visit several locations, enjoying a little fishing or driving at the Amelia Island State Park, Fort Clinch, Nature Trails and restaurants, storefronts… and we end the day at the river with the setting sun.
