By the 1870’s, over 12,000 covered bridges spanned the American landscape. More than quaint relics of horse-and-buggy days, these remarkable achievements in civil engineering helped forge the physical and economic growth of the United States for over a century. Today, roughly 750 remain, with the majority located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Vermont, Indiana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.
The very first COLORS4X4 Honor Badge is dedicated to the preservation of the remaining covered bridges. It features the 1820 Haverhill-Bath bridge in New Hampshire, the oldest remaining bridge in the US.
